KEIRSEY ANNUAL TEMPERAMENT AWARDS

Awarded to well known and best examples of the temperaments of the year.

2003

GUARDIAN OF THE YEAR

.COLIN POWELL (SUPERVISOR GUARDIAN)

Without the steady support of Colin Powell, the most popular Secretary of State, since George C. Marshall, George W. Bush would have had a tougher time in convincing the nation, and part of the world, of the necessity of the invasion of Iraq.  Powell lent his caution, prestige, his creditability as a reluctant warrior, and his persuasive abilities to present a clear and compelling case for action to the world.

ARTISAN OF THE YEAR

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER (PROMOTER  ARTISAN)

Body builder, Actor, Entrepreneur: German Immigrant.  Political Blitzkreig -- His political opponents didn't know what hit them.  When he competes, he wins.  A classic example of the best of a Promoter Artisan, using his charm and charisma to move mountains.

RATIONAL OF THE YEAR

CARLY FIORINA ( COORDINATING  RATIONAL)

Strategy and technology is Carly's mantra.  Having a big fight with founding HP David Packard's inheritors, she was successful both in persauding HP's shareholders for a Compaq merger, and completing the integration of the two computer companies faster than planned.

IDEALIST OF THE YEAR

FRED ROGERS (MENTORING IDEALIST) 1928-2003

"We have to remember to whom the airwaves belong, and we must put as great an emphasis on the nurturing of the human personality as we can."
